How do you prevent water from coming in the Hood Vents?

Im sure this has been beaten up over the years, but I dont know if there is a simple fix/mod I can do to keep rain out of the engine compartment.

Seems to me its a dumb design..... I have the FIORE Hood vents and cant understand why they would be desinged to rain on the engine.

Clear plexi behind them? but then they wouldn't vent very well. I would imaginge most people with those vents don't drive in the rain.

The stock one's had the plastic tabbed vents that helped, but most people cut them open. Honestly, I never had an issue cause I didn't drive it in the rain. When I washed the car, I just threw a couple of towels to help plug the holes.

I have the stockers in storage....ill take a look.

Since I will be driving this car not treating it like jewelry, Im gonna have to figure something out.

I cut the plastic underneath the stock vent off to open the fully and drove in the rain often.... never had any issues.

the fore ones are gaping holes though and look cool, that might be why...

I do the towels under the hood too. But I also started the car that way once, forgetting they were there. That was a mistake I never made again, LOL. Now I usually wrap a piece of tape around the key to remind me to take the towels out before starting it up!

...as for the vents... its just water, if you're driving in the rain the engine bay get dosed with water and dirt from the underside anyways. Ive had mine wide open for 7 years without a problem

i just don't drive in the rain. It is not a gem but M/T's are not great tires when wet

The water falls down right behind the radiator and in front of the engine anyways. If you peak right down through the hood vents.

i had the fore vents too, just left em open when i washed the car. no biggie. popped the hood an wiped up under there. never drove it in the rain though. also removed my hoodliner too

i never drove in the rain when i had my stock hood but after i washed my car id just wipe down the engine bay every time - maybe just put it in your routine to wipe it down after every wash, should be ok. oh and +1 on the no insulator and cut vents
