so i just bought a sonic blue 03 cobra and am looking for info on my vin.
im hoping someone on here knows the car. i bought it at advantage chevy in bolingbrook on sat and already i believe it need new syncro's. it wont shift fast from second to third.
it has mods, but, like i said im hoping someone knows the car and can tell me its history. all help would be greatly appricated!!

i also believe the driveshaft is out of balance. but thats not a big deal. i work at Quartermaster and intend on just building a new one.
and the seats are from a GT and not cobra leather/suede. wondering whats up with that.

Do you have a adjustable fire wall adjuster? That would be first step. Next would be to see if you still have issue. These clutches/ pressure plates when going act up a little and make you think your shifting sucks, when it may not be the tranny.

the problem is only in second to third. my work makes high perf clutches. basiclly its not the clutch. that i know. and sometimes third pops out of gear.

Does your car have the quadrant replaced and a firewall adjuster?
readjusting the clutch properly may help part of the bad shifting.

You could have more than one problem, clutch failing/improper adjustment and a bad syncro or improperly adjusted shift linkage.

when does the problem happend with 2-3, what RPM, etc? A few of us know these tranny's pretty good, describe more in detail

One other thing, the 2 to 3 shift has to be done a certain way. If you don't know how to do it, you'll miss every time.

At any rpm it grinds a little but at high rpm, you can't go in at all. Sometime third even slips out. And when i'm going from first to second and second to thrid slowly I feel and hear grinding. But they go in.
