anyway to check the lifters without pullin off the heads?

Unfortunately, no. If there is no metal shavings in your oil, and you still have oil pressure, its almost definitely not a spun bearing. Which leaves the lifters or possibly a fucked up piston(still kinda ruled out by no metal shavings).

It has aftermarket pushrods, and it could possibly have aftermarket lifters as well. Either way, it has been taken apart before, and the pushrods may not be the correct length or lifter preload is/was not set correct causing one to collapse.

oil was clean. pushrods are straight. changed out the header/manifold gaskets and put it all back together and it was still there. tonight i pulled the pass side head off and got the lifters out. they all look good to me, I will pull the drivers side off later this week.

sorry for the crappy pics didnt bring my camera

don't know if the lifters are stock.. the pushrods are comp cam magnums stock length

and the lifters have different numbers on them four are "tr3" three are "tr4" and one is "tr5" i am hoping they don't have specific locations as my dumb ass didn't note were they came from

ok so from what I can tell all the lifters and pushrods are good. I am about out of ideas and am gettin lazy. I am gonna get some new gaskets and put this thing back together.
I dont want to keep taking shit apart to find thats not the problem.

so were should i bring this thing? I just want someone to tell me what the problem is and I can take it from there. and how much should I expect to pay for them to tell me whats wrong?

thanks again for all the help
