There is an automated wash south of Plainfield on Rt 59 that has conveyor belts. The whole car just sits still on the conveyor belts and the wheels don't turn. Like putting a gallon of milk on the conveyor at the grocery store. So there are no rail guides to scratch the wheels. Just the brushes LOL. I can't remember the name of it, but it has a blue translucent roof over the top. My white car car doesn't really show any swirls or blemishes, so I do the cheap washes quite often at those.

Very interesting, I had somewhat of the opposite experience when my car was damaged at Delta. Their wash ripped the door trim off the drivers door on my GLI and they ordered me a new one, installed it, and gave me a full inside /outside detail. I was quite impressed so I continue to go there quite often.

Busy Bee car was on 58 & 72. Touchless, laser guided so no rails. Just drive between the cones on the way in and stop when it tells you to. It also has jet dryers on the way out.
Does a great job too. I take my truck there at least once a week.

@syP I had an issue with my old truck there too, dude manually folded in my power mirrors instead of letting me do it and broke the mirror.

Mine was a little more clear on video than getting a scratch. They replaced my mirror no questions asked.

I agree with everyone else here though, in the future, don't take your car through any automatic wash. Take it to a manual wash if need be, thats what i used to do when i lived in my apartment with the vette.

As much as this sucks, looks like you'll be repairing/replacing a wheel.

Sucks that it happened. I have been hearing about a lot of car washes damaging vehicles. I've never taken my car to an automatic wash so I have nobody to blame but myself if it gets damaged.
