I just had a funny thought too..... You could leave the glossifier on the tire instead of pulling it all off for a tireshine look that wont sling off.... Maybe?

No I ignored it because powdercoating a wheel would never warp it. LOL.

Hahahahaha....ok Zack. I have had probably 5 sets of wheels powder coated. 2 of those sets were warped and had to be replaced by the coater. And all of them all took much more weight after the powder coat than OEM to get them to balance. Also they all needed roadforcing to accomplish this. This is also 3 different powder coaters over the last few years. It does happen. Trust me. Furthermore why wouldnt you want to use a process that is reversible and guarantied not to harm any part of said expensive car. Especially if you are not sold on the idea of having perm. black wheels. Its a no brainer for most....

Yeah, I saw that. They do a good job. I may plastidip it just to see how I like the wheels black, but I'm going to eventually get them powdercoated.

I honestly do not see the issue with plasti-dipping. If he takes his time it will turn out really nice and be super cheap. He also has the added benefit of going back to the polished wheels when he gets sick of the gloss black with really no costs. Seems like a win-win to me. Just because he bought a $100K+ car does not mean he needs to spend shitloads of money on everything.

Id personally wouldn't plasti dip anything on such a nice car. Leave the plasti dip to C5Z's and Smurf blue grand prix's.

x2 on vehicle like that I would not mess with powder coat, paint will hold up just fine. I hear some KDX dude does excellent work.

i was thinking more about the paint thing... on something that saw salt daily and year round absolute thrashing I would be more hesitant to paint them. but On something like this I would do it.

Forgive me for not just knowing but are the wheels aluminum? If so why not get them stripped and anodized?

Hard-anodized would not be gloss though, Im sure you could clear over it though if thats the look he wants, but then you may as well just paint it.

I would Plasti-Dip them in a heart beat! It will look great and cost you $30. Then if you ever decide to sell the car peel it off and you have brand new looking wheels underneath. I would plasti-dip a Ferrari or Lambo if I had one!
