where to get a vw tuned

where in chicago can i take a 07 vw passat 2.ot fsi to be tuned i know it will be pricey no matter what just want a stage 1 reflash thats all

Mobile 1 in glenview is ok for Uni but I know two people who had their MK6 bricked.

Komet out near St. Charles but they are expensive for labor.

Uni is probably the best software but Mobile 1 sucks. I went there for years but he dicked me over bad a few times and acted like it was my fault. Overall treats his customers like their stupid most of the time. Wouldn't recommend them. Autobarn is pretty good but I thought they did GIAC software which is pretty good but maybe they switched to apr now. Id also check out Malone Tuning Ltd. « I've heard great things. They can send you a flashloader.

Autobarn is now all APR. I have an APR tune and it works. I went to GRD but I wouldn't recommend anyone go there ever.

I ended up going to GRD and have no issues with my APR tune. Bill Jacobs wanted to charge an extra $100 labor for the same process.

APR typically has seasonal specials where you can get a fully loaded tune (ability to switch between stock, 91, 93, valet, clear fault codes) for a lower than regular price.

It's not a difficult process, so any shop that can do it cheapest really can't screw it up...

i kinda wanted unitronics but apr is fine too. i just cant understand 600bucks for a 15 minute off the shelf flash tune. when i can get a sct tuner that can program every obd2 ford for 330lol

Imports vs domestics. There only a hand full of vw tsi/FSI motor vs Ford cars on the road.

Some cars cost a lot more just for the tuning software.

There are some must have maintenance work for the FSI, like a pcv mod or something to prevent oil burning

i already got a divertor valve, downpipe, catch can , neuspeed intake , boost tap , lowering springs on the way for the car , im staying with at most a 93 octane stage 1+ tune should be good for 260 ish hp and 300 ft lbs in a wagon lol ill be adding a stage 1 dsg tune for the trans also pretty soon

grd is 2 miles from my work tho. i think a simple reflash is pretty fool proof tho
