Have I mentioned anything wrong with the motor on either of my cars? No...

the 3.0 Vulcan, and the SHO mills in the 2nd generation taurus's are damn near invincible so long as they are maintained.

i can vouch for yamaha motors i had my rev limiter removed and many times missed the 1-2 shift (damn mazda trans) and whined it up to well past 10k and never had one engine problem, infact i didnt even maintain my car..... i changed the oil once i think with 20k miles!!

they have survived a few spike tests at 15,000 rpms.

ya.. there was a test done..


it sustained a 10k rpms test for 5 days straight.. stopping every X amount of miles to change the oils... after 5 days it spun a bearing.




They also did a few spike tests to 15krpms... 1st gear.. to 2nd... to 1st
