Car starts then dies almost immediately

So my bitch of car sometimes likes to not stay running. I will start it, it runs for a couple seconds, chugs, then dies. I have to keep it around 1500-2000 RPM to prevent it from dying. This only happens when the car is cold. If it is warmed up I can turn it off and on with no problem.


This all started after I installed my gen v, S2IC, 42.5's, and northstar tb. It is an older style ZZP core with no PCV function. So I am running a breather. Shawaj on clubgp sent me his .bin file. He has more or less the same setup as me. I uploaded it with all the necessary MAF and injector changes. It was a ZZP dyno tune. He went low 12's and dynoed 340.

My intention was to use it as a base and tweak it. Buuuuut I didn't get around to it before i left for school. Car runs flawlessly aside from the starting issue. Can my tune in combination with the breather be fucking things up that bad?

I wouldn't use anyone else's bin file... Open up a stock bin, change the IFR, MAF, and flash the car and see if it runs. Also Maybe a vac leak. You could also try Unplug the maf and see if it stays running.

open up the file and see what comanded idle is at each temp but more importantly check that the engine coolant temp is jiving with IAT at cold start and reads correctly hot.

it may be "close" but that only counts in horse shoes (ok bags too) and hand grenades

I misspoke there a bit. I'm still using the same .bin file as before. I copied his MAF table to mine and then uploaded it. Everything else remained the same aside from the injector tables.

And I just pulled out my mini AFC and played with it a bit. Richer makes my car angry. Leaner makes my car happy. So apparently I'm drowning it at start up? Looks like all it will take is leaning out the lower end of my MAF table.

I'm still running stock L36 shit fuel wise. Pretty sure that doesn't apply to me because the L36 fuel pump is only one speed. Yes?

I do not. I unfortunately do not own a powrtuner. I just borrow my friends when I need it. Autotap is my only form of scanner and I don't think that can be uploaded due to not being of the .csv format.


And I just looked at the stock LQ4 values and there is a considerable difference in the low end cells compared to the values I am running. At 1500 Hertz the cell is roughly 125% of the unmodified LQ4 cell.

Can another LQ4 guy or two perhaps post up their MAF table?
