3800 Engine mount.. and Tranny Mount Question

how would i know if either one went wrong...

can someone look at both for me?? I wouldnt mind driving a little to meet you,

i just cant tell.. mainly because i cant find them :lol:

I am not 100 sure but theyre "should" be some kind of audible distinction tell you that something isn't right! Why do you think they are bad, what are the symptoms or are you just wondering?

well my engine is totally cocked downward on the passenger side....

so that is why i was thinking..


the upper motor mounts dont fit unless i physicall lift the side of the engine and attach the upper motor mounts...

weird.

Are your cradle bolts all the way in?

There should be 4 bolts that hold the "fram" in the car, I would check that and also check the motor mount (near the crank pulley). It definetly sounds like something is wrong with your mounts. If you want me too look at it let me know i am off on thursday this week.

also when driving your engine would rock back and forth when braking and accelerating then you will know that you will need the engine mount. Not sure how you can tell about the tranny mount.

if its the tranny mount or lower motor mount the engine will *lift* when you hit the gas while the car is in drive.. you'll obveusly need a friend for this.

If the motor is dropping down at the snout side, the front mount is bad. If the other way the trans mount.

The mounts (lower) are supposed to allow the motor to rock back and fourth. The uppers are for back and forth restriction.
