I spoke to Ray on this about a week ago. They're still not 100% sure they are going to get the mandrell bender due to it being a $100k machine and the space they need for it. It will most likely take up one of there smaller bays. Will see what happens.
I say they go for it.

If its so easy, just say it. Uninformed?? I beg to differ. You just like to pop up in every exhaust thread and put JD down and pump Fair. I know they are your boys and all, but stop the sack riding. This is a JD sack riding club. B)

I'm the one that questioned James Dean's work. As a person Jim is one of the nicest you'll ever come across but when it comes to making a downpipe that is designed for optimum flow, his units (and Fair Mufflers) are less than ideal because of the nature in which they're bent.
People can twist my words and make it sound like I'm ripping on Jim and Fair and that's just not the case. The simple fact is, and it's fact, any 3" mandrel bent downpipe will outflow any crush bent/ pressure bent 3" downpipe and when you get up in power the difference will be significant enough to warrant the little extra it costs to purchase mandrell.

You dont jump on every exhaust thread though. Theres a difference.
You mention when you get up in power. The same can be said about S&S headers, PEMs, SLPs, hell even TOGs. For the average/above average, JDs downpipes arent that bad. IIRC 2 cars ran 12s with them and could have cept going.
As I also said on cgp. Price for performance, it cannot be beat.
