Why do you say that Ryan?  I always see people saying to buy a new shortblock.. I have a good shortblock with bad pistons... Just wondering if there is something Iam missing. I dont see the logic in getting rid of a lower mileage block for a higher mileage one as some people do.

there is no advantage unless the bearings are worn but you did say you got gas in the oil I would take the short block to a machine shop and have them run over it to make sure everything checks out and just replace the bad piston.

maybe have them replace the bearings and polish the crank while they're in there.

Its confirmed... #5 cylinder has a damaged piston.

Anyone want to see the pic?

What is the advantage of doing a new/used shortblock vs re-pistoning the current?  I would be saving a considerable amount of money ...ANY idea or opinions are welcomed at this point...
