Hey guys I am going to be buying the American Eagle 185 Wheels this week and i want the biggest tires i can get for it i know i can go 255/40/17 but what about 255/45/17?? the guy at discount tire said it would be close with the 255/40 will the 45 fit?? thanks i cant wait to get them on oh yeah i am getting chrome

Also one last thing is there any rims out there wider then a 8" rim for a 17" wheel?

are you lowered? You can go with 255/45/17's but they are alot more money then the 245's

no i am not lowered and dont plan on it after i get the wheels and tires there will be a very small gap in the wheel wells. I dont care about the price i want a big tire thanks be going to dscount tire as soon as the wheels get to my house

Also that wide of a tire will put a strain on your steering rack and will be a pita for slow speed turning. I know a few guys that have gone that wide and weren't really happy with it. Others have liked it though.

And ive also heard that if you use that size tire and have the upgraded trailing arms they might rub.
I was going to go with 255-45-18's for mine but ive decided against it and will be sticking with 245-45-18's the tire radius will match the stock size perfectly and my speedo wont be off then.

255 45 18s here and if you are lowered, like I am, on Eibachs it is a tight squeeze...
