3800 SR Rockers Question

6 are 1.8 ratio and 6 are 1.85 ratio correct??

Which set of six go with the intake and which set with the exhaust?

How can i tell the difference between the two? I need to know before saturday.

IM pretty sure those are the correct ratio. 1.85 on intake, and 1.8 on exhaust. The 1.85's pushrod seat should be closer to the "roller pivot part" of the rocker arm. I forget the name.

If your SC you would benifit from the longer ones on the exhaust...hence 1.85" on the ex and 1.80 on the in.

I say 1.85 intake and 1.80 exhaust. Being a gt you need to get more air in so therefore the 1.85 on the intake. You don't want more air going out then in. Not that that should be possible but you want to hold air alittle to improve your torque.

1.85 intake, 1.8 exhaust, on the rockers the exhaust ones will have the pushrod seat closer to the end of the rocker, this should be fairly noticable

ok.. that is like 4 or 5 people so far that has confirmed my beliefe on 1.85 intake 1.8 exhaust.

hehehe... i didnt even notice until now that i looked at them... but she engraved on the sides of them which ones are 1.8 and which are 1.85... how very convenient... ONE LAST question.. hehe sorry..

6 rockers go on 1 of the straight Bars and the other 6 go on the other straight bar... that means 1 bar will have all of the same ratio rockers and the other bar will have the same ratio rockers...

1.8-1.8-1.8-1.8-1.8-1.8
1.85-1.85-1.85-1.85-1.85-1.85

Or do they switch every other space? IE:
bar 1 = 1.8-1.85-1.8-1.85-1.8-1.85
bar 2 = 1.8-1.85-1.8-1.85-1.8-1.85

I just want to make absolute sure, because i will be doing this on my own, and im not sure if zack knows the answer to this.

switchem up ... each head has 6 valves on it, for 3 cylinders... 1 intake and 1 exhaust valve per cylinder so if you put all 1.8s on one bar and all 1.85s on the other 1/2 your engine would be breather better than the other half heh

Now... as to weather the exhaust or intake valve is first ... i know not

The exhaust rocker will be right infront of the exhaust manifold tube. The intake will be next to it. Youll be fine.

well i left them in the pedistals the way they came out of my car...unless you changed things around by now.....its not that difficult of an install but i do suggest someone who has done them already....

Im just making sure, no offense Lisa, but i just heard it was every other one.

The ratio is engraved on the side, so that is how i know which one is which.

Hey man...

I just ordered rockers recently also, Intense 3rd Gens w/oil restricted pushrods. Hopefully should be here by Friday..

Anyways, I was looking across the internet to see if it was possible if I could do the install myself and came across this link :

Its for a GT rocker install, but as you can see in the pics. The intake side is always located right above the spark plug, while the exhaust side is located above the exhaust manifold or header...

Hope this helps a bit..

I am helping Syp.

So with the rockers, 1.85 go on intake (spark plug) and 1.8 go on exhaust (manifold).

You have six spark plugs and six manifold tubes.

I assume you just put them in that order, that's how I would do it.
