3800 Computer help

I have windows 2000 Prof.

this is the 2nd time now this year that my computer has reformatted a hard drive (both times it was the f and I didn't want it too.

The first time, I was isntalling Linux on another partition, and I thought I messed something up (even though I didn't specify the F: at all). Now this time, my computer just froze (was trying to open Opera Browser), so I restarted my computer and when I went to access the F: it said "F: Is not formatted, would you like to do so now"

Is there any way to recover the information on the harddrive? I don't know what caused this twice now. This is very frustrating as I had many of my computer programming projects saved there.

um i might be able to fix it but will take 3-9 hrs and u might have to pay 2 buy some software im A++ certified and C++ if u liked for me to help pm ,e or reply this topic

unless you kept going with an install, most likely the data is recoverable.
