Picked up a new eBay special oil pan to clear the 4 bolt mains. JB welded on some oil drain fittings and got it bolted on. Motors pretty much ready to drop in once I rearrange the garage a bit

I've never seen this car drive-able in the years I've known you Peej. I'll probably shit my pants the moment I see it rolling down the block.

Good thing I don't see you anymore, will save you the embarrassment of poo running down your leg

Can you elaborate on the 8.8 swap? Mustang or explorer rear? Back spacing? Driveshaft....etc?

I have a 68 also.

No problem, it's a 94-98 mustang rear with cobra disc brakes. (Same as Fox housing, disc brake axles just push the wheels out another 3/4" or so). I cut off all the suspension tabs and had leaf spring perches welded on at the correct pinion angle. Was a pretty simple swap.

I don't remember driveshaft length but I think it remained the same as the 8". Currently running oem 99-04 Bullitt 17x8 wheels. I'd like to try and put a 17x9 under there but that's a problem for later

Thanks. I have a couple more if your up for it?
When you went disc brakes in the rear, what master cylinder did you use? (im drum-drum manual currently)
Were you able to use the matching front wheels? Did you have back spacing issues?
Thanks.

The car came with disc/drums, with I think a 78 granada MC lol. When i went rear discs I didnt change it and had no problems. At that point I was running a 1" spacer on the front with matching wheels.

Since then I have installed the vintage venom kit with 13" front cobra brakes. It has a 1" spacer built in under the disc so I am running the same wheels. I have no feedback on the MC yet.

Got side tracked with the other car but finally working on this thing as time allows. Cleaned up some stuff with the steering and need to finish modifying the column for the new rack and pinion linkage.

I think she's ready to drop in once the weather's decent enough to work with the door open for a while.

Got the headers finish welded. They are some cheap shorties that I flipped, shortened, and put vbands on.

The turbo mock up picture I posted the other day was using a merge pipe that I booger tacked together a few years ago. I will be using parts of it and modifying it for the new setup. Turbo exhaust is going to dump out the passenger side somehow, but I'm not sure if I want to cut a hole in my fender or not.

Here's the headers installed
