This is what we grew up with... Ma Bell Trimline phones. We'd add 600ft of coiled cord to be able to walk around the house...
At the house in WeGo, it wasn't until the early 90's when I converted it from these. They were hardwired, so I had to rewire them to modular jacks;
This was the main phone in the hallway and a spare bedroom;
Remember when there were only 40 - 50 channels even with Cable and in the early days, and NO HD, and you STILL had to get up and go over to the slider bar on the cable box which sat on top of the 19" tube TV. Nowaday's our PC monitors are bigger than the TV's we had.
My grandparents had a yellow one in their house when I was quite little. But i remember it.

I think 39 was the TV Guide channel and it seemed like every time you go there, you miss your channel and have to wait for it to scroll back around.
