I'm also planning on getting an e85 tester so I know what I'm putting in. However, I'm not really sure what to do if its not close to 85. Go somewhere else? lol

You don't have to do all of that. It's not like the car is tuned to run E85 only. The fuel trims will adjust as they need to what percentage the E85 is on that particular fill up.

Do you have a bigger pump to flow that extra 30% or at bare minimum a rewire? Honestly from what I have read what is the point if you are not going to push the timing which e85 allows more leeway with?

The 30% adjustment route will definitely get you in the ballpark. When I tuned my car for E85, I adjusted my IFR 30% as a base for my tune. I purchased a ZZP dyno tune on Black Friday last year for $150. My tune put down 320 whp. With ZZP's tune, I put down 337 whp.

Just curious, what size injectors do you have?

Thought about doing a rewire if its needed, And I thought I read with e85 applications, more boost is better than more timing. Not sure how true that is though. I am planning on just doing the swap and seeing how it runs. ZZP won't do a canned tune for me because my injectors are too small. This is what they said, "Nope, 42# injectors max at 250whp on gasoline and theoretically 175whp on e85. 60s themselves max at 275whp on e85."

Is 91 available? In most states that's E0 and 93 is E10

91 is available here in Iowa. but e85 is everywhere. It also seems like with all highway driving I could save a couple bucks. And more power is an added bonus too. I've always ran 93 so the 91 makes me a little weary

Do e85. I used to drive 100 miles a day while running it. I loved it.

Get a rewire. And not a Zzp rewire. Either get Casper's or racetronix.

If Zzp will tune it, you are kind of at their mercy as for what they say about injectors. But, I have ran over 250whp on stock injectors, so that's not really correct what they are telling you.

But, if you haven't bought injectors yet, 60's are about $5 more than 42's, and a better injector, so that is what I always recommend.

I got a set of used 42.5's that are coming in the mail tomorrow. Do you think you saved any money by running e85? What are your thoughts on the tune?

Running e85 for the sake of "saving money" is the wrong reason for going to e85 imo.

Thats not my main reason for switching, If its a byproduct of me switching then I won't complain.

Back when I used to run it and put on all those miles, it came out to about the same cost as running premium. Now it's cheaper to run premium, at least here in Nebraska.

Hard for me to say what their tune is like. If I couldn't find anyone local to tune it, I would probably just throw the injectors in fill up with e85.

hell if you wanted to, and you are not in school for regal madness, I bet if you made the trek I would volunteer my tuner as long as you pay for the credits. I bet with the tuning knowledge that will be there you could get a pretty decent tune. Just food for thought.
