Meanwhile, the long-rumored Deadwood movie inches closer to finally becoming a real possibility. Bloys also revealed that if the stars align, the movie could end up shooting this fall:
“David Milch is doing a rewrite that he and the producers were talking about. If they can get all the actors together, which they’re trying to do — and everybody wants to do it — if they can get everybody back together, we’re looking at fall 2018 to shoot something. But a lot of things have to fall into place for that to happen. But I’m optimistic.”
We’d heard rumors about a potential fall start date as last year approached its end, but hearing it directly from Bloys makes it seem that much more real. Still, I think fans who have been hearing talk about a Deadwood movie for years probably won’t be happy until they see a trailer for the final product, or at least some photos from the set to prove that this is indeed actually happening.
