I agree with Joel, wouldn't be bad if it werent for the crv front end.
x2 on the tow rating, if you want to tow that regularly get a fucking 3/5 ton. Even modded my truck wasnt very pleasant towing over 3000lbs esp with a couple people in it and gear in the bed. Mainly the brakes, would have been better if I got around to the hydroboost swap.
shit tow rating?
anyone buying a mid-size truck really care if it tows 5k or 6k? seriously?
i think people forget how heavy 5k is sometimes. and it's just a dick measuring contest with full size half tons now a days.
5k can't do a uhaul trailer (~2000lbs) + mustang/f-body/whatevs (3500lbs). But the GM flavors can.
you're 500 lbs away?
really. that's what we came up with!? come on brah!
id drag 5500 lbs worth of shit all day long with something with a tow rating of 5k lbs.
fuck
id drag 6000 lbs worth of shit all day long with something with a tow rating of 5k lbs.
what'd you expect though? seriously?
all of a sudden honda to make the ridgeline 450hp, 10k towing capacity, with a hook up for a flat bed semi trailer from the factory?
Why compete, it has a niche market that works. By moving into that market they just muddy the waters and potentially LOSE customers.
So I guess by putting a pickup body on a minivan chassis they saved a buncha money and won. Props to Honda then!
this is like someone with a one ton dually complaining about a new silverado not being able to pull enough
Read, it is on the pilot chassis, not the minivan.
SALTY ford owners everywhere.
Whoops, My bad, Pilot based; "According to Gary Flint, Honda's large project lead and Ridgeline's chief engineer, the Honda team "were springing off from other model developments --both Pilot and MDX--
where we had some of the structure modeled. "
I could have sworn I'd read it had Odyssey under it.
