Vikings traded up 7 spots and got Florida State Star RB Dalvin Cook :fy:
Bargin of the Draft so far IMO as he should've easily went in the first 20 picks. A 3 down back with 4.5speed and can catch the ball well. He was a beast, straight running over teams in the Bowl games. Just need to keep him out of trouble and we're good... He know's Xavier Rhodes and Teddy B. they'll keep him inline. Need to go Offensive lineman next all the good ones were gone before we got to pick...

Vikings got 6'3 303lb Center in Pat Elflein from the Buckeyes! :fy: traded up 9 spots with the Jets getting a 5th rounder from us to get him.

PICK ANALYSIS:
"One of the most technically advanced offensive lineman in this draft. He's not the best athlete in the world, but he's technically proficient. He's one of those guys that will play 10 years in the NFL. I love the fact that he can play center and both guards. Really solid pick by the Vikings." -- Mike Mayock

A few picks later we traded with the chiefs letting them move up and us get their pick plus an extra pick back in exchange.

Bears Were Only Team Willing To Trade Up To No. 2 For Mitch Trubisky? - NFLTradeRumors.co

:picard:

Just like the Glennon signing and a bunch of other signings, the Bears front office is easily fooled and end up bidding up themselves

can the get back into 5th round?

Slick Rick Spielman took 2 defensive players early in the 4th and then traded twice with the final 4th pick... Now we're back in the 5th round with 2 picks...lol

Fourth round, #109 overall selected*Jaleel Johnson, a defensive tackle from the University of Iowa.Height: 6ā€™4ā€ Weight: 310 pounds to help fill the possible loss of Sharrif Flyod if he can't come back which I hope he somehow pulls through the guy is a monster when he's on the field.

Pick #120 Vikes took Michigan LB Ben Gedeon started all 13 games at inside linebacker during his senior year as well as Special teams. He posted a career-best 106 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and two pass breakups in 2016. He appeared in 51 career games for the Wolverines, racking up 176 career tackles (80 solo) with 6.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss.

Vikings signed Michael Floyd to a 1yr deal.:bigthumb:

Floyd is going home, a wide receiver who grew up in St. Paul, MN is signing with the Vikings, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Vikings may have waited until today because yesterday was the deadline for signings to count toward the compensatory pick formula, so this signing will not cost the Vikings any compensatory picks.:fy:

Best 2017 NFL Draft Reports

7. Tony Pauline was the first to call John Ross to the Bengals:

4/24: John Ross is in the conversation for the Bengals at No. 9 overall. - Tony Pauline, DraftAnalyst.com

6. It's difficult to call picks in the 20s, but Armando Salguero was all over the Dolphins selecting a defensive end, especially when there were conflicting reports that Miami would be all over Forrest Lamp.

4/25: The Dolphins would be happy with either Derek Barnett or Charles Harris. - Armando Salguero, Miami Herald

5. Most expected Christian McCaffrey to be chosen in the teens back in March. That changed when Peter Schrager published the following report:

4/6: "Heard from multiple front office execs over last few days. Feeling is now Christian McCaffery goes Top 10." - Peter Schrager, FOX Sports

4. Charlie Campbell dominated the rumors again, just as he did as far as correct mock draft picks are concerned. Many expected the Jets to take a quarterback early in the draft. Even Rich Eisen was confused about why they didn't. Eisen wouldn't have been perplexed had he read Charlie's report:

4/2: "The Jets are unlikely to draft a quarterback in the early rounds, as they aren't impressed with this class of quarterbacks overall." - Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com

3. Many suspected the Chiefs might select a quarterback if one were available at No. 27. However, one person said they'd move up for Patrick Mahomes:

4/27: The Chiefs love Patrick Mahomes and are willing to trade up for him. - Matthew Fairburn, NewYorkUpstate.com

2. Adam Schefter, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay combined to cause some controversy on draft day. There wouldn't have been any drama had everyone listened to Mary Kay Cabot and Michael Silver instead:

4/27: Myles Garrett will be the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, per multiple sources. - Mary Kay Cabot , Cleveland Plain-Dealer

4/27: Michael Silver said that it's a good assumption that Myles Garrett will be the first-overall pick.

1. Tony Pauline had a great year of posting rumors. He called the Falcons-Seahawks trade a day before the draft:

4/26: The Seahawks and Falcons are in discussion for a trade. - Tony Pauline, DraftAnalyst.com

Top Five Worst 2017 NFL Draft Reports

5. Brad Biggs is a good reporter, but this blurb was pretty bad, as he whiffed on all three attempts to get Chicago's pick correct.

4/25: The Bears are considering Solomon Thomas, Jamal Adams and Marshon Lattimore if they remain at No. 3. - Brad Biggs, Chicago Tribune

4. Many connected Deshaun Watson to the Jaguars leading up to the draft. Here was the strongest take:

4/27: There is growing chatter that the Jaguars will select Deshaun Watson at No. 4 overall. - Jason Cole, Yahoo!

3. Matt Miller had another rough year. He said the Bills loved Deshaun Watson (they didn't), and he also said this:

4/26: "Word from a league source: Chiefs trying to move up, but for an inside linebacker and not a quarterback. Reuben Foster/Jarrad Davis maybe?" - Matt Miller, NFL reporter

Andy Reid doesn't put much value on the inside linebacker position, so I found this report pretty dubious. Still, this wasn't as bad as saying Matt Barkley would be the seventh pick in the draft, or A.J. McCarron wouldn't get past the Bengals at No. 16, so things appear to be trending in the right direction, sort of.

2. Pro Football Weekly's Greg Gabriel made some interesting tweets prior to the draft. Unfortunately, most of them contained incorrect information. Here's an example:

4/26: "Everything I'm hearing now says Bears will not go quarterback at 3." - Greg Gabriel, Pro Football Weekly

I guess he was technically right because the Bears moved up to No. 2, but I don't think that's what he had in mind.

1. ESPN is leaking serious oil. Their ratings are down, they're firing hundreds of good employees, and their draft coverage was abysmal. Their reporting was especially horrible. Both Todd McShay and Mel Kiper mocked Mitchell Trubisky to the Browns on the morning of the draft because they were piggybacking on a report from Schefter that people around the league thought Trubisky would be the selection.

Making matters worse for Schefter, when the Bears traded up to No. 2, he told the camera that the move was for Solomon Thomas.

Schefter had no correct draft reports this season, which was shocking. The Schefter of old would've been all over the top three picks of the draft, yet he couldn't even get the first one right. This is just another example of ESPN capsizing.

Kevin White's Maserati carjacked.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Kevin Whiteā€™s car was among those taken in what is believed to be a series of so-called ā€œbumper tappingā€ carjackings in Chicago, a source confirmed to NBC 5 in Chicago.

Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Whiteā€™s Maserati, driven by his girlfriend, was taken after a minor collision in the 400 block of North May in the cityā€™s West Town neighborhood, a police source said.

Chicago authorities confirmed a 26-year-old woman was driving on that block when she was rear-ended at a stop sign. When she exited the Maserati to check for damage, two men got inside and drove off in the car.

The luxury vehicle theft was one of several reported in numerous parts of the city over the last month in which thieves use ā€œbumper tappingā€ to steal vehicles, police said.

Tom Brady's career may be over.

Redzone:

Five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady will be the cover athlete for Madden 18 , following his Patriots teammate and buddy Rob Gronkowski, the Associated Press reports.

"I think it is very cool," Brady said. "I grew up not far from the headquarters of EA Sports and some of my neighbors and best friends worked there. And we hung out at the gym they built in the facility where a lot of the 49ers would go. To be a fan of the game and play it over the years, it is really a cool honor, so when the opportunity was presented to me, it was something I would not turn down."

Asked if this will put him in the same celebrity realm as Gronk, Brady laughed.

"Nobody has more fun than him," Brady said of the star tight end who was injured for the team's championship run last season. "He is such a great player and it's great for him to experience some of the cool things that come along with being in the NFL."

Brady acknowledges that he's heard about the curse.

"I am not sure it's supposedly that there is a curse, I think there is a curse," he said. "I've been able to overcome a lot of things in my life, and now we've really got to step up our game."

NFL Owners voted on Tuesday at the Spring League Meeting in Chicago to shorten the length of overtime in the preseason and regular season from 15 minutes to 10 minutes, according to NFL.com.

The overtime change was first proposed at the Annual League Meeting in March because teams felt that participating in a full-length overtime period the week before a Thursday game created a competitive disadvantage.

NFL.com reported*from NFL Research that there have been 83 overtime games in the past five seasons and that 22 of those have lasted at least 10 minutes into the extra session. According to the report, the average elapsed time in overtimes of those 83 games is 7 minutes.

Injured reserve expansion

Ownership also voted to allow each team to bring back up to two players from the injured reserve list in a season.

Teams previously were allowed to bring back one player designated for return.

Now, two players will be eligible to return to practice if they have been on injured reserve for at least six weeks and can return to games eight weeks after being placed on injured reserve.

Roster reduction change

In previous years, teams have reduced rosters from 90 players at the opening of training camp to 75 players during the preseason before finalizing their 53-man rosters to start a season.

Owners voted to eliminate the mandatory reduction from 90 to 75 players. Now, teams will go from 90 to 53 players.

Players can now group celebrate after TDs. They can also go to the ground (snow angel) and use the ball as a prop.

Still, there is a fair amount of gray area within the new guidelines. Acts that are "spontaneous displays of emotion," in the words of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, will be allowed. But demonstrations that are deemed offensive, that delay the game or are directed at opponents are still prohibited.

What is (and isn't) legal under NFL's new celebration rules - NFL Nation- ESPN
