I’ve had the pin pulled on that grenade for years, one day it’ll let go of the trigger. I haven’t driven the fucker in 2 months, jumped in and right to the highway. It’s only like 5 minutes or so and settled to like 5psi at 65-ish

time I do not have. I don’t hate the idea of a duramax but they don’t seem easy to come by for a reasonable price. My fear is it’ll become LS powered if I can’t repair the Detroit easily.

Twiddled my fuel screw today and it scared me. Hit 15psi at the top of first and then 1-2 shift it spiked above it a little. My hx35 came with a poor man’s boost “controller” and I ended up swapping it out for just a piece of vacuum hose. I think the stock vacuum actuator is rated at 15 so I may need to do something different. Either way it scoots down low now and has a bit more haze. I think it could even do a burnout if the brake bias wasn’t so wildly bad to the rear (I’ve got an adjustable prop valve for it I’ll get on one day).

This thing is silly now. I saw like mid 900’s for pre turbo EGT’s and same boost numbers. Let’s see how long these 38 year old head gaskets hold up

Tonight I finally got to test out my new LED headlights. Cutoff seems good and they throw light pretty far. Not ideal conditions to “test” them but whatever.

I’ve been driving this thing more and more and it’s been self healing itself. Radio started working again.
Wiper motor works better than it ever has where it used to not move unless I clicked it on and off a few times, now it’s flying.
Turn signal stalk was real vague feeling and assumed it needed replacing, that’s all crisp moving now.

I don’t think this axle leak is going to self heal though and fuck me it’s a big job to replace those since it’s up against the inside of the diff. They make outer seals which would be a hell of a bandaid but probably not a bad idea after I replace the inners

The outer seals i believe are just dust seals...
