During the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled a mobile game in the Diablo franchise. Diablo: Immortal is an RPG for mobile devices, coming to both Android and iOS.
Immortal, built by Blizzard and Netease Games, will take place between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, and tells the story of what happened after Tyrael shattered the world stone. Blizzard game designer Wyatt Cheng said the time period in Diablo’s history will be “our chance to explore 20 years of untold stories.”
All of the Diablo 3 classes are playable, including the Necromancer. The game itself appears to play much like Diablo 3 on PC and console — although classes seem to have different abilities. Heroes will be able to dive into new arenas and dungeons to slay demons in a top down perspective.
The game is also fully multiplayer, with larger groups of players being able to inhabit the same space at once, working together to take down demons in Diablo’s horde. More information on Diablo: Immortal will be revealed as BlizzCon continues.
