happend to me. the light would come on when I would brake. I changed my brakes and the light never came on. Not sure but this might be a way of telling us its time for new pads.

Definitely check your brake pads, if the fluid level goes low enough the red brake light and the abs light will come on. If your brakes are ok, use a scanner to see what the code is, possibly a failing sensor like ShelbyGuy mentioned.

I doubt it's the brake pads, the car only has 5200 miles . I'll check it with a scanner once I get it back.
