So I've started browsing Reddit regularly...my thoughts

Not that this is interesting or that anyone will care but as someone that has NEVER browsed Reddit outside of being sent there from Google, here are my thoughts.

Its great for scrolling endlessly, much like IG. HOWEVER, I can't read the discussions for the life of me. The structure is such a mess and everything is just condensed links, so much clicking and trying to figure out who is talking to who, etc.

I'm just randomly adding subs to curate my feed but even that shit is mostly boring. Gonewild aside, I just don't get how people spend hours on that site. Yes, there is essentially infinite content but the discussions themselves fucking suck.

What am I missing?

When searching for things on Reddit, remove the www. and use old. It doesn’t condense as much as the new style does, so less clicking.

I actually don't hate the official app (which most seem to absolutely cringe at), as it scroll a bit like Tapatalk, but once you get into a discussion, fuck that :rofl;

I don’t think you’re missing anything. If my searches lead me there, and the answer isn’t in the main page, like one level of answers, I go somewhere else. For the reasons you cited.

I use it for 3D printed stuff or basically anything hobby based. Screw using it for daily content IMO.

Couple things needed when browsing reddit.

1st: you gotta stick to old.reddit.com the normal layout is trash
B: make sure you install the Reddit Enhancement Suite extension for Chrome or Firefox
Third: Make sure you have Ublock Origin extension installed for Chrome or Firefox
IV: unless you're looking for random shit from where ever, I generally stick to the subreddits I am interested in. There's generally a subreddit for many things, but there's also a lot of garbage.

Only use Reddit app here, tried using the desktop and found it a little much. I use it for specific subs / topics, ask questions etc… once the topic blows up it’s hard to follow.

The left of left wing and socialist craziness on Reddit is ridiculous and it invades everything interesting outside of naked women and 2A stuff (mostly). God forbid you post a fact about a right winger or independent and you get castigated and actual death threats.
Ask or comment about a car……..socialist responses.
