stock ls pushrod is 7.400 but if you measure it with a set of digital calipers it will show 7.385 since you are measuring from the flats is the smoke white or a gray blue tint ? whiteish is normally coolant , gray blue burning oil .

ok time for an update to this , this is the first free time i have had since i started this post , steering rack in finally installed waiting on some hex stock so i can make my tie rod ends , welds arent the best of my ability , but i goofed on the angle and just decided to back fill the gap...
