Last night I went to Bill Kay Ford in Midlothian to look at a used 2010 Honda Accord EX-L coupe with only 10,000 miles on the car. Love the Accord, looking to trade in the pos gxp. The car salesman, Frank, was very nice to deal with so I have no problem with him whatsoever but his manager Mark was a complete asshole by the end of the night. I told them I was going home to think about the deal and was not going to buy the car tonight, so I asked for my key and they cant find it. It was already almost 11 pm, the sales man and manager were looking for my key and the manager was swearing, mother fucking the sales man, calling him a dumb asshole and the whole deal! I could not believe that the manager was saying stuff like that in front of and two of my friends that were with me.

I plan to go back on Friday or Saturday to take another look at the car and try to get the price down just a little more. It is not a bad deal right now considering that I am trading in a Grand Prix that is not really worth a lot of money. Is it worth a try to act like I am not sure if I am interested in the car because if how the manager acted in front of me? Say something along the lines that I was offended and that I am not sure about the sale unless they knock some more money off the Honda?

I am not really upset that they misplaced my key but I just cant believe that the manager acted like that in front of customers.

Yeah that's very unprofessional. If my boss every treated me like that let alone in front of a customer I'd probably walk. I would say something but DIRECTLY to the manager. The way it sounds if you say that to the salesman who relays it to the manager you will do nothing but get the salesman in trouble. If you're calm about it and talk straight to that manager you might get somewhere. I also wouldn't directly use it against the cost of the car. I would bring it up and then start negotiating right after while he has it in mind. Hope that helps. Good luck with the new car.

I would highly suggest you ask to speak to the GM or whoever the offending manager guy's boss is

This, if that means talking to the owner, so be it. I've done it before, and it works out well. The GM's and owners don't want their management acting like that.

EDIT: When I bought my last car, the salesman (who was also the internet manager or something) called me a liar to my face. I got up and walked out, and bought my car at a competitors dealership. I made sure to let him know why I did as well.

I wouldn't even want to go back there to buy a car.

There are plenty more accords out there...

This Mark guy that acted like that is the GM of that dealer so I guess I would have to talk to the owner.... It is kind of hard to find a 2 dr, 4 cyl, EX-L, Black interior, Silver or Black paint Accord. Sure there are plenty out there but to find one with all the options, 2010 or newer, used, with super low miles is kind of hard to come by.

Well now that you narrow it down like that, yeah it's time consuming, but not really hard. The big question is, "would you have bought the car at that price, if you hadn't heard that conversation?" If no, then walk, but you aren't in that unhealthy working relationship so buy the car and don't go back.
