Well, I figured I'd bump my build thread rather than post another thread.

Decided against replacing my turbo for the start of this season. It's over at precision now getting rebuilt/refreshed.

I'm dropping in a spiffy 03 Silverado 145A alternator, a new belt, a freshly rebuilt turbo, braided stainless trans lines, a fan for my trans cooler, new tires all the way around on the stock wheels for street duty and a few other little tweaks here and there.

Looking forward to warmer weather!

So yea. Basically, the turbo had been in use for 3 or so seasons. It was leaking oil from the turbine side and would puff a small amount of smoke (leaking oil into the turbine side) after a pull too. It is just a healthy thing from time to time to let the MFG get their hands on the turbo again to make sure its running as intended.

Isnt that the norm for a company who is trying to sell/service a product. "Well you need this this that and this."$$$$$ just sayin

Trust me, I hear ya.

Not really though. Those are all things resolved with a simple rebuild kit that replaces seals.

I am sure glad there is companies that are the exception! But it is hard to get it in people's head that some times more money up front can save you money in the long run. Some times the figure that out the hard way.

Customer service and honesty go a long way for me. That is for sure.
