I don't recall off the top of my head but they were the same from when I was with statefarm.

1 car full coverage (04 Wrx)
1 car liability and uninsured (01 focus)

I'm 26, wife is 25, both no tickets or accidents.

I'm with AAA and I lied; it's $52.81 a month.

I don't have them in front of me, nor do I have them memorized... Thankfully.

What cars are insured also play into it as well.

That is a good rate regardless. I have heard good things about AAA. I dislike State Farm because they fucked my Mom over by dropping her because she got hit three times in one year.

I am not married so I don't get that discount yet. My GP is an 06 so it is newer and I would guess the rates on a V8 GP are higher than a WRX. I am also no tickets and no accidents, but the family has had a claim or two in the recent past so that is probably sliding my scale slightly higher.

There are way more GPs on the road than Subbies... Usually that skews the insurance data because the car is more prone to crashes. Though I am not an expert, but I have noticed that the more common the car I own the higher the rates. Keeping in mind that most cars I have owned have been in the same price category.

There are a lot of variables at play. Once the marriage is in order we will do a little rate shopping to be sure we are covered appropriately, and since we are buying a house we need to get that included too.

Alright, here is the scenario I just ran:

Customer Information:

* Mr. Test Client
* Date Of Birth: 1970
* Clean Driving Record
* Clean Insurance Claim Record (CLUE Report)
* Good credit (COUNTRY uses insurance based score to determine risk along with your driving history etc... ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES NOW DO THIS)
* Has Home Owners policy with Country as well (Multiple Policy Discount)
* Is married (you receive a discount for being married in most cases)

Policy Example:

* Bodily Injury Liability of $100/$300K,
* Property Damage of $100K,
* Medical Payments of 5K,
* Deductibles of $250/$500 for comprehensive and collission
* Vehicle Travel & Tow (Roadside assistance, rental vehicle coverage, trip interuption coverage pays for hotel etc if more than 100 miles away from home and repairs are needed etc)
* Full Coverage for Saftey Glass (No Deductible for replacement)

Discounts:

Multi Policy Discount (Having home with Country also)
Good Driver Discount

Total Cost

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP = $426 / 6 months ($71/ month)
2007 Subaru WRX STI TURBO = $614 / 6 months ($102 / Month)

Now, let's see what this does...

if Test Client had both vehicles on the policy, the rates would adjust to this:

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP = $349 / 6 months ($58 / month)
2007 Subaru WRX STI TURBO = $500 / 6 months ($84 / Month)

But I have an 04 Subaru Wrx wagon. Not an Sti....unless they're all lumped together.

It does look like that would slightly change these figures (to the tune of about $100-150 less every 6 months for an 04)... and again is based completely on a fictitious client (No way the rates would ever be identical for yourself or another individual).

Note: I corrected the GXP to an 06 as well

Edit:

With the client I spoke of above, modified the vehicle as mentioned to an 04 WRX Wagon

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP = $349 / 6 months ($58/ month)
2004 Subaru WRX Wagon= $383 / 6 months ($63 / Month)

You will def. need to shop around and make sure you are appropriately covered. Also, you will need to look into something to protect your assets should something happen to you. Would you want to leave your spouse or worse yet children (when you have them) responsible for paying all of the debts should something happen?

I have life insurance through work, they subsidize it so it benefits me to go through them. I want to wait to do any of it until her name is changed so I only have to do paperwork once as I need to change all the beneficiary information over.

We'll be chatting.

I assumed a 300hp sedan would be more then a 227hp wagon :rofl:

Thanks for the reference. I'll check my limits when I get home.

Makes me LOL too... It is weird how insurance works!

Indeed.

Some cars you think will be expensive to insure, aren't ... and others that you think won't be, are.

Adam ... this is tempting. I've been thinking about getting a second opinion on a few things recently, so I may just take you up on your offer....
