Actually I haven't visited ESPN's website in several weeks =P. Yahoo and NFL.com are where I get the majority of my football related info.

And I don't really care what anyone thinks about McDaniels, including himself... that is not a passing team. They have an average receiving core without any real deep threats. Their strength over the last 10 years has always been their offensive line's ability to protect the passer and allow running backs to find holes. Denver has been known to basically breed running backs. Yes, a lot of that had to do with Shanahan and his coaching philosophy, but that is still what the team has been built around.

I think they picked up Tebow because McDaniels has a huge fuckin' ego and wants to prove people wrong about Tebow's ability. I don't believe, however, that Tebow will become the starting QB for Denver this year without an injury to Orton.

And yes, you were wrong about their RB situation... their RB situation involved a shit ton of injuries. They never had a solid fullback to run behind, either. But, the largest point to make, is that the team as a whole fell on its face after week 6 of last year. It's still a solid team from a player's perspective, but after other coaches figured out McDaniel's plans 1/3 of the way into the season, he never came up with any counters.

And a near 1000 yard rushing rookie season isn't terrible by any means. Most of the games that he was given the ball more than 15 times he averaged over 4 yards a carry, with only a couple exceptions. The times that Moreno performed poorly was when he barely touched the ball... as is the case for most RB's. Moreno is a good back, but he suffered along with everyone else on the team from having a first year coach.

You are correct, they will pound the ball up the middle this year and do what they can through the air. But with a second year back, a mediocre QB and no recievers that are worth a damn, I cant see them winning a lot of games.

The main reason Orton had decent numbers last year was because of Brandon Marshall. Who is their best reciever now? Gaffney or Royal. They will SUCK a TON of dick this year.

Denver is still a much better team overall than Oakland and trying to predict what the Chiefs will do this year is basically impossible. They have some good young talent, but the team as a whole is still in its infancy and I'm not sold at all on Matt Cassell. I'm a firm believer that Bill Bellichick, as sleazy as he may be, is just a fantastic coach and is able to groom any QB with a hint of talent into something great. Not to mention, trying to crack the Patriots' offensive line is like breaking into Fort Knox. KC has no where near that caliber of offensive line.

San Diego will still be the top team in the AFC West, but the Broncos will finish 2nd and should have a good shot at the wildcard.

They finished last season 2-8. Now they dont have their best defensive player (Dumervil) or their best offensive player (Marshall). The Bears have a better shot at making the NFC wildcard than the Broncos do at the AFC wildcard. I dont see them going better than 6-10.

The Bears turnovers and inability to produce anything but yardage is just sickening. What the fuck is wrong with you, Lovie... the cardinal rule of football is you ALWAYS TAKE THE LEAD WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE. If you get stopped three times in a row on the goal line, but can still take the lead with a field goal, TAKE THE FUCKING FIELD GOAL!!!!

If he does that for another two games, then I'll eat my words. I already gave credit where credit is due, and admitted where I was wrong in other areas. I have no problem doing that. I'll be expecting the same in return when Orton continues to do well, too :bigthumb:

295 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT is very mediocre. you arent exactly winning games with that performance.

The interception was on the last play of the game... and was basically just up for grabs. If you actually watched it you'd have seen that he played very well. Be a little more open minded, it doesn't hurt, I promise.

I'm not saying he had a bad game, but it was by no means a great game. He is exactly what I said he is: A mediocre QB, who didnt lead his team to a W. Thinking a mediocre QB is good and will lead his team to a wildcard (when they clearly dont have a chance) is being open minded?

I didn't say he was great, but yeah he was good. Plenty good enough to enforce what I said before about Tebow not becoming the starting QB this year unless Orton gets hurt. Like Shibby said, the team around him, particularly the defense, didn't play well and so they lost.

You don't have to think he'll lead them to the playoffs, but give credit where credit is due.

Personally, I believe that if the Broncos do poorly it will because of coaching, not the players.

Yeah I understand what you are staying. But you started this by saying that the Jags blow and that the Broncos will not only win, but will end up making the wildcard. My original point is that the Broncos blow, and will finish in the bottom half of their division.

Eh, Romo was making terrible throws most of the night. They have THE WORST KICKER int he league ever. The last minute fumble was the stupidest decision by the cowboys to not just take a knee. And they are number 1 in most penalties in the NFL.
I honestly didn't expect them to win with how good the Redskins actually looked from the start.
