I hope that the "rev-fest" can be curbed.
This is what happened to the Hanover Park Tradewinds plaza cruise night a few years back. Many folks who attended were laid back. It was a very nice cruise night. Then the word got around to the rev/bump crowd and the swarmed the place with stupidity. The hosts curbed most of it for a while but the rev/bump crowd got upset that everytime they did a rev or would not turn their stereo's down, they were asked to leave. They would feel insulted that intelligence over-ruled their stupidity and they would "race" away.
Problem is it was through the Dominicks side of the parking lot. People complained that the morons were flying through the parking lot coming close to hitting them, their shopping carts, and their cars. The police and plaza owners then stopped the cruise nights.
The night I was at Lukes, everyone seemed to behave just fine.
Some things you might want to try to help reduce the stupidity factor:
See if the police department would park a car in the lot near the entrance or road.
Make posts on the other websites that this kind of behavior is not allowed and that you are working with the local police and having "bouncers" to stop it.
Have a couple of folks volunteer to be "bouncers". After a week or two of asking them to cut it out or leave, They may go elsewhere.
Roselle cruise night has off-duty police officers and community service officers (in uniform) volunteer in patrolling the cruise night. As soon as someone does something stupid they usually get swarmed by 3-4 of them. I have seen them sternly ask stupid people to leave. Seems to keep the riff-raff down just having them walk around. Might be an option if you talk with the police department and the owner of Lukes.
