No, many TBSS's have been in the 13's. Same as how mags say the GXP isnt any faster then 14 flat (if they even give it that) while others have gone as fast as 13.7, and several atleast on ClubGP are in the 13's STOCK.. and I dont mean like 13.99 @ 99mph.

Magazines infact do "lie".. about american cars atleast.

I will give Motortrend the benefit of the doubt as they seem to have atleast run they're own 1/4 mile time, and not just used the generic 14.35 @ 96.33.

There are very few people here that are old enough to really appreciate the SS badge. and SS is a PERFORMANCE PACKAGE. it was said earliar. And thats what it still is. A 200 HP V6 or a 300 HP V8.... thats a big difference. And if a 4-door sedan can run 13's when the LS1 Camaro and Trans Am were running only a half of a second quicker. If my 4-banger can run 13s with a just a pulley and a tune. That seems like it qualifies as an SS to me. just my .02

Find one and race em that way u will know when it maybe beats u it runs 13's i beleive it and GM actuially started putting badges on cars really badly was last year and there are only about 5 diff ss type of gm cars

What about the SRT-10 viper truck it runs 13's-12's what about the srt-8 Jeep that runs 13's all day????thoes are around 4500lb trucks that can do it

Some have hit 12s stock. Not many. But more LS2 GTOs have hit 12s stock then LS1 Fbodys have IMO.

they shoud just have a set of numbers on which to say wheither it should be an SS or not.

ex:
300 or > hp
14.5 or > 1/4
0-60 6 sec or less

and continue on with braking and so on say with roughly 5 more numbers.

If the car meets or beats 4or5/8 make it an SS, 3/8 make it an RS, anything else call it lt or anything else that people dont car about.

Just an idea on how to make every SS vehicle earn it.

and I read that article and never want to see a corvette ss, Z06 or maybe C6R, or maybe stingray, giving a vette an SS badge seems very unfitting to me and I honestly cant say why.

The fastest GTO I ever saw at the track that was apperently stock went 13.6. It was a LS2 Auto. At raceday at Byron a blue GTO from LS1speed was there, I believe he was running 12's if not 11's. All the other GTO's ive seen ran 14's. I know some LS2's have run high 12's stock but thats very rare and I would think 90% of GTO owners could not get there car todo that. If you remember FacedPacedGTP with the blue pace car. The pace car wheels that are on YOUR car right now that you bought from me were origionaly from his pace car. That Guy I belive ran high 12's in his GTO.

Im pretty sure your wrong just because of the fact LS1 F-Bodys have been around for about 9 years and the LS2 GTO has been out for what 2 years.

I did a quick search for Fbodies, but couldnt find a bone stock list. I have read and heard of at least 3. So if even the grand total is 6, thats still not bad according to you since the LS1 Fbodies lived for 5 years and the LS2 GTOs have lived for 2, and will live a total of 3.
