Decided on castle rock lake.

Any luck on your trip last weekend?

We finally got the Lakes to lock up completely around here once the wind went away early Thursday morning. There's about 2.5-3" as of now and the forecast show's after this Wednesday we'll be getting a cold snap for a while to build really good ice! About time! :fy:

Bought a St.Croix 40" light action rod and a few other things today. Bought the 13Fishing Concepts 40" Medium Heavy rods in December for fishing Trout in the Harbor. Lindy Glow Spoon should be a good producer!

Headed up to lake puckaway instead :bowrofl:

Bunch of big bluegill, perch, crappie, couple small eyes, fat 27ā€ pike.

Making the trek to Madison next weekend chasing pike.

No need to go all the way up to Madison for Pike... All Kenosha area Lakes have a ton of them.

An early group of Native Americans originally named Kenosha, Wisconsin Kenozia which means "place of the Pike".

Iā€™ve got a buddy who lives there and he wants to get out. Free place to crash too

 Bunch of soft spots on the lakes with the snow and areas with springs... Be carefull and check the thickness around you! Tournaments last weekend and this weekend were cancelled and or rescheduled except the one on Channel Lake tomorrow, but they're limiting you to only fish the south end by the Thirsty Turtle and I think its only a panfish tournament so I am out... I've stayed off the ice this whole week even though I know where the safe ice is and isn't on the lakes. I am trying to get out tomorrow or Monday, maybe both days.

I am looking to fish the Harbor too! I checked Kenosha Thursday, the spots I checked only had 2" as it was still open water last Saturday. It will probably be a zoo down there 2morrow so I'll most likely just hit up a local Lake 2morrow and fish the Harbor on Monday. Really itching to get some Trout through the Ice!:fy:

Made me some DIY adjustable Automatic Fisherman for 40"+ rods today. Just cut down some crutches for push botton adjustability, fab'd up some brackets and made some triggers. They work great and only cost me a total of 20bux for the blue anodized piping, had the rest of the materials. Never made it out on Monday with the 8" of snow I said fuck it, will head out Friday and then Saturday I have a Tournament.:jg:

Did you see that idea for the autos somewhere? Really clever use of the 15 pairs of crutches everyone has stuffed in an attic/basement/garage

Nope, I went to go buy 2 of the new adjustable Automatic Fisherman "Snappers" the night before for the longer rods I got and they were sold out at Basspro and went to Gander and they said they don't carry them for some reason. So I looked around at all of the other diy ideas people have done and thought how I could make my own that would be adjustable. Was bored and got creative, I'll probably still buy the Snapper's eventually but these will work good and when friends want to come I'll have extra equipment to get them into/try out the sport.
