So I have been tired from a long weekend, and from finals for school, I fell asleep early last night and left all the windows down in the car. Needless to say I forgot they were down and I woke up to loud thunder and heavy rain, not thinking I walked out the front door and hopped in the van. I never even made it past the car to notice how much of an idiot I was, so the windows were down the whole time. Now the car seems fine except for the wet carpets and mats, the moldy humid aroma  and the drivers door window switch making electrical noises which seemed to have stopped.

My question is the switch seemed to stop making noises that sound like water getting zapped, and pending all the water completely dries should it be fine? The buttons still work thankfully. Also I took out the floor mats to let them dry, and the leather seats seem to be alright, but what about the carpet? I used towels and what not to dry up as much as possible, what about the moldy smell that will probably come?

I would try to use a strong wetvac to suck up that water from underneath the carpet.

EEWWWW....when I still had my blazer...I let my dad borrow it to go grocery shopping and he ended up spilling a whole entire gallon of milk in the back of it. That smell, no matter how many times I cleaned, or had it professionally cleaned, would not go away.

About 2 months after I got my Denali, I was brining a pressure-washer home and like a dumbass, I laid it down in the back. Spilled 3 gallons of gasoline straight onto the carpet. No amount of cleaning would get the smell up. Only thing that worked was a bag af charchol (they sell this at like Linens-n-things). It is a mesh bag with white charchol in it. Threw that in there and within 3 days, you NEVER would guess that gasoline was spilled. I would get everything dry and use the charchol bags. From what I understand, you can even use regular charchol briquets in a bowl or something. I tried baking soda, air freshners, etc..... the charcol worked the best.
