get some good quality wood to start out with. nice and thick 3/4 inch, forgot what kind. some kind of board, lol.
its pretty straight forward, find out what size box your subs are recommended for, measure it out and put it together.
go to your local fabric store and you can get vinyl to match your interior or car color scheme. use that with some carpeting to match your trunk and get a nice 2 tone look.

Glue the seams, I prefer to use liquid nails as it bonds the MDF well and seals agains air leaks. If you use screws make sure you drill a nice pilot hole as you will split the MDF. Using an air nailer is best because you can use a lot of fastners and never split the wood. A reinforcment ring around the sub mount is a good idea but not required. I stuff my boxes with poly fill, 1 lb per 1 cu ft. Make sure you chamber the box, equal size obviously.... Uhhh.... I cannot think of anything right now...

If you have yet to build something.. and live somewhat close to Carpentersville/Elgin area, I'd be happy to lend a hand. I can't find any pics of my sub enclosure (fiberglass in the rear corner of the trunk) - but the few that have seen it can attest to its blingness.

But yeah...MDF is way easier, just gotta take your time. 3M Super 77 spray glue for the carpet - Tweeter sells a matching color to our cars. B)

What can be done to make a subwoofer box light? Balsa wood? Can a box be made out of something lighter? Plastic or fiberglass? I got a nice 2X10 box that weighs almost 90#sRFosgate...Its not getting near my car. I'll go open air if I have too..

Can anyone guide me....Sorry to hi-jack..
