3800 Supercharger problem?

Today I went over by J.E.T.'s place to gut out my cat. Well we gutted out the cat and got that done, and then hoooked up the autotap to see why i was getting mis-fires. it turns out that i was mis-firing in cylinder 6, so we replaced the spark plug wire and mis-fires went away. now my problem is that whenever i get on the gas enough for the supercharger to give the engine boost, there is a metallic clanking/helicopter (yes the helicopter noise again lol) noise audible coming from the supercharger. we checked the supercharger oil, and there was barley any in it, so we added what was left of a bottle that J.E.T. had. the supercharger is still making the noise, however. is something in my SC fried, or what should i do to fix my problem? thanks!

we checked with the autotap and there were less than 8 counts of missfire for the 6th cylinder. now it's just that metallic sound. sweetness i wont be able to make it today, i got a job at the chicago auto show that just came up last night when i was at J.E.T.'s place. we can definatly do another time during the week if your avaiable, however!

Thanks

Well first thing you need to do is disconnect the SC belt. Drive around town and see if the noise goes away . If it does than you know it is the SC causing the sounds.

Remove the SC SNout.
Like SNoop said inspect the coupler. And check the SC blades for any sign of damage also you can check the bearings.

Can the rotors go bad and make horid noises? Has anyone ever hear of a case as such? I know the rotors teflon can peel, but is there anything else that can go wrong? Doesnt seem so... but my sc is also making a noise similar (no where near as loud though) to Adams. But the noise only comes on after 2K RPM.

Back to Adams problem:
At idle, there is no noise. If it was the coupler or bearing, it would make a grinding noise all the time at all RPMS, right?

We should have taken the belt off. It was getting really late though... Next time!

I'm having an expert GM tech look at mine over the weekend B) .

Hey guys, im new to this forum...it looks like i have the same problem...the engine stutters kinda like a "helicopter" after i accelerate hard or give it some boost...this happened after the spark plugs have been replaced...but before i replaced the plugs, it made a similar noise, but it wasnt a fast stuttering/helicopter noise...it bogged after i accelerated hard, but it wasnt like the fast engine stutter/bog or helicopter noise im getting now with my new plugs when i accelerate hard...weird...but i do not hear any metallic clanking/sound at all, just bogging, but really fast...and this only happens after about 3k+ rpms, basically when i accelerate hard to get boost...the car runs smooth and all below 3k rpms and idles very smoothly... the problem kicks in right when i accelerate hard, doesnt matter how fast or slow im going...the fuel filter, belts, and supercharger oil have also been replaced at the same time my spark plugs were replaced...I did not get the spark plug wires replaced...I think that this is my problem, since i had'nt replaced my spark plug wires ever since i got my car...it sucks cause everytime i give my car boost, i end up getting almost no boost :( ... it might be my pcm, but i dont know... sounds like im getting mis-fires...but the problem for mis-fires may be solved just by replacing my spark plug wires, just as Adam86 did...but i dont know...if anyone could help me out on this problem, i'd really appreciate it :)
