Any one here like Sushi? NOT MAKI (ROLLS)

Oops, screwed up the title. Need food. Good sushi is fucking expensive, it's like feeding yourself Redline or Amsoil oil each bite (one quart per 2-3 bites!). Back in the day I've stupidly spent around $30-$50 on myself at lunch, but I haven't had sushi in a long time and I am thinking about it. I would prefer to experience this with other fans, I am sick of the wussies that don't want to try it.

Just wondering if there are any sushi/sashimi fans like myself. Mainly Japanese raw and some cooked items.

Sushi is NOT: California rolls, or tuna rolls. those are MAKI, and california maki is bogus sushi.

If you think just eating raw tuna, salmon and unagi (eel) is all you can handle, then you are not a sushi enthusiast.

Uni (sea urchin) is my favorite sushi bar item, if you can find it "grade A" and fresh. Spicy tako (octopus) maki, various tobiko and masago (fish eggs).

If anyone is near the south burbs, I know a good place in Tinley Park called G-In. Other than that, you'll need to go downtown/uptown for good sushi.

Here and There
Yup, you are a sashimi lover.

I am not quite the aficionado, however, I'll nail down a quick lunch line up for ya...

Let's say Kamehachi...

1x Salad

1x Summer Roll (Tuna, Yellowtail, Green Bell Pepper, Avocado, Masago, Cilantro, Spicy Mayonnaise, Spicy Sesame Oil & Lime)

1x Dragon Roll (Freshwater Eel, Cucumber & Tempura Crunch rolled outside with Avocado, drizzled with Eel Sauce)

One or More of (ea.) of the following... Tuna, Smoked Salmon, Yellow Tail, & Escolar.

& a nice chunck of wasabi.

what is the place in schaumburg? The only place I know of is Todai in woodfield mall, but that's only for cheap all you can eat low to medium quality stuff. Sometimes you hit a jackpot, and I horde the fresh stuff.

Bad sushi (places that don't serve it fresh and they suck) will make you feel weird and worst case SICK.

Good sushi, fresh and clean with no PARASITES (you just have to know where the good places are $$$) it has a "high" effect, feels like a caffiene rush. After a good clean sushi session you are usually ready to take on the world and do some chicks at the same time.
