Sprint's speed on the iPhone SUCKS. I moved from ATT when the new phone came out because I wanted the unlimited data so I could jailbreak it and add the tethering. When I got the phone I noticed it had download speeds of 60 - 70kb/s. My buddy noticed the same thing and Gizmodo had an article about it.
4 months later and no change at all. It's still piss slow, with ping times of 200ms, and often won't connect on the first attempt. Meanwhile, my wife's iPhone 4 still enjoys download speeds of 3+mb/s.
I spoke with Sprint about the problem and then lady basically told me I'm shit out of luck because she doesn't show any coverage issues on her map. She basically taunted me. I had to go to the store last week, show the phone to an employee, have him document the problem and apparently now I can call up and cancel.

it works, receives calls/texts on time w/the phone freezing, and has a decent camera
I was eyeballing that too
I was thinking the iPhone only bc of the iPod, you know 2 birds w/one stone option
But as of right now I'm still weighing my options. I'm just sick of NEXTEL's slow technology and I don't need DC anymore bc most of my friends swayed away from it now.

I'm not all for any one company but i have sprint and live in palatine and work in Schaumburg area and haven't had these issues, although I've heard sprint is known for them....just lucky I guess but have had for a month and no issues thus far. Can't say the same for my wife's AT&T iPhone 4...... Constant freezing

Sprint sucks!!!!! my wife would send me a text and one hour later I get the text she sent me as I'm sitting next to her. Wtf happens all the time i get like 10 texts at a time. Like a few said the phone is slow and I have a iPhone 4s. My wife has the Evo 3d and does the same thing the service is very poor.
You said that about your previous phone, and your pre, and the one before that. Even made a witty video about how its awesome compared to my iphone.
Im still on iphone, you have had 4 since then.

I have Sprint and I haven't had ANY of the aforementioned issues. I previously had an EVO and got sick of how buggy Android is and the shitty battery life. Switched to the iphone 4S and have never looked back. I consistently pull 1.5+mb/s on 3G. It's not blazing fast, but it's just fine for 99% of the data stuff I do on my phone, plus I'm on WiFi anytime I'm at work or home which is probably 85-95% of the time.
I know I'll get flamed to shit, but IMO Android is nowhere near as polished as iOS and the apps don't work nearly as well or look as good. My only beefs about the iphone are the Mail app (not nearly as good as Gmail app on android) and the notification tray (not as well implemented as Android. Other than that I think the iphone crushes Android (I was in denial forever). The keyboard is light years ahead of anything you can get on Android, Safari is the best browser out there and the phone functions of this phone including Bluetooth integration with my car work flawlessly (something I couldn't say for my EVO).

However, as for the keyboard, there are quite a few replacements, SwiftKey being my choice, that is just about perfect.
And fuck, we just turned this into an android / iPhone debate.
I had swiftkey on my EVO...I can type much more quickly with better predictions on the iphone.
I'm just saying....I was all about android until I broke down and got an iphone.
