It's getting warm again. Anyone Cache? [MENTION=73]tinfoilhat[/MENTION] and I found a few last year around the apartment I lived in. Looking forward to doing some more this year.

I'm down for some geocaching meets. There's a lot of trails with tons of them.

I've had some fun doing this myself as well. Only found 5 or so but its really an awesome way to get out and explore new places. All modern smart phones can do this now I'd imagine. I first tried in 2010 with a garmin GPS (meant for cars) and it didn't work to well lol

Yep newer phones work perfectly. The app I prefer is C:Geo to start with. It provides map tracking, compass and gives you live distance to target updates as you are walking. The only issue you can run into is battery life on your phone. You'll be using GPS constantly with the screen on so consider it similar to driving and using the GPS in terms of battery life usage out in the field....so bring a fully charged phone! Lol

Geocaching is a pretty fun way to get out and about in the field! I need to remember to do it more!

The most geocaches I found were actually on a vacation to Arizona a few years back. While my family sat outside by the pool, I went out exploring.

What's the coolest thing u guys have found? I found some kinda rifle shell and some foreign coin lol.

That's funny! I left a foreign coin, probably from Spain or the Philippines, in a geocache in Round Lake a few years back. Probably not the same one. I try to leave cooler stuff than I find if possible. I haven't found anything super cool just yet.
