The 9500 is nice, but it really does the same job the 8500 does. Only real difference is the camera light notifications and the fact that it'll tell you how fast you're going (according to its built in GPS) when you get hit with radar.

I mostly want the 9500 as it is less chatty than the 8500 once you drive it around a bit and it cancels out the false positives based on GPS. That way I wouldn't have to mute my radar everytime I pass these two grocery stores. Or the false laser alerts I get on 90 near the air port.

This. The red light alerts are also a nice reminder if you were planning on pushing your luck with a yellow light. I wouldn't use anything else. I need to send mine in to be refreshed as it isn't locking onto its suction cup base anymore.
