I thought it was toast, but it ended up just being a bad hard drive. I put in a "lower milage" Seagate 30Gig in it and a new DVD-ROM...works great.
Has a whole IDE connector open, so adding a few new bigger drives would be super-easy.
Not for gaming obviously, but it works great for general use; internet, movies, etc.
and hey, it's cheap!
