Can u drag and drop music into this or does it need software kinda like iTunes and iPods.

you still need to have the zune software to sync it, but you can just drag and drop right into zune and then sync and youre done.

You can drag and drop to it... It works this way though- you drag from the collection view in the zune software to the device. You can do this in either of two sync modes- manual, and 'choose' mode. In manual, the software does nothing to manage your sync'd content on the device. You add and you remove.
In 'choose' mode you get automatic sync'ing of content you choose. The difference is you can choose songs, or albums, or playlists, etc. and when a change is made in your collection (you buy a new album for a 'chosen' artist for example) it is sync'd automatically.
As for creating a sync folder... I have no idea where you got the idea that is required. Zune software uses the same library concept that win7 uses. You just have to tell it where your stuff is, so it can display, play and sync it. You can create a specific folder if you like, but whatever your current folders are works just as well. And, if you have multiple folders, you can also drag and drop from windows to the zune software to add them to the collection as monitored content. There is no additional storage space required... you are just telling the software that the music it should use is over here, in that folder...
