Story: Purchased car a few years ago with intention of using as a simple street cruiser that could be driven to the track, raced, and driven home. No more, no less. Approximately the third or fourth time I had it out driving to a local cruise a knock developed in the motor. I returned home, parked the car in the garage, and have pretty much let it sit since. Took the car out one other time to have a bro take a look at it, hoping it may be a simple fix. Car ran, but well, not so good and the diagnosis was that it needs to be gone through and rebuilt, or simply find a better motor. I don’t have the energy, capability, passion, or time to deal with such a prognosis so I’m offering it up to someone who can.

The good:
The car shows very well. The paint color is original, but was resprayed at some point I’m guessing 10+ years ago. No critical rust issues, just a couple of very small surface blemishes on the inside of the hatch groove on the body.

The suspension is very well sorted and car tracks straight on the road. All lights, signals, etc work fine. Wipers are removed in photos but are included.

The interior is in very good shape and in a rare color to boot. I have almost all of the original trim pieces so anything that appears to be missing is included. No cage was installed. Car was essentially a factory delete car so manual windows, door locks, a/c. All windows and latches are in good working order; I have some spare door insulation trim that is included in the car but not immediately needed.

Bad:
I spoke to the motor issues. Car WILL start and run, but has some hesitation on load and you’ll be able to hear the knock in the upper drivetrain. Car idles steady and I’d believe it would be fine for a short drive off of major highways and no heavy throttle applications.

Car at some point had been in a minor accident. Car is not a salvage title. Evident from re-weld points in the front shroud brace. Probably the reason Nothing serious, but I’d speculate that’s the reason the car was re-painted.

Hood paint does not match the body; common with fiberglass hoods, but its very close and only really evident in direct sunlight.

Note: I did not build this car. It is virtually identical to how I purchased it in 2012. I don’t have the documentation from the builder, as it was done I’m guessing in 2008-2009

Bottom line: If you’re looking to build a great street machine for a fair price this is the one of the best deals you’re going to find. Car is a great chassis setup in search of a good motor and or a great owner.

I am also open to trades, especially for DD’s and Trucks/ SUV’s.

Please PM me with questions.

Car is located in McHenry

Thanks
