We bought it last year and have left it down here to use for visits but it has come time to bring it home (will be driving it home after Christmas instead of flying back)

I just love the lack of rust on this thing! It will almost be sad to subject it to Chicago winter but at least it will have many years ahead before it starts to rust away like the typical Maxima's in the area.

Trying to find a clean 1995-1996 GXE with no sunroof as I have a JWT ECU to throw in it. But if the people at Nistune can finally work on these I will have to take a look.

It still isn't all that quick a process as fair warning.

We had to look at MANY craptastic hacked and beat to the ground Maxima's before coming up with this one (plus the SE 5spd isn't all that common anyway)

But I think if you are patient and vigilant about looking at what comes up in ads, you can find what you want as well!

It just takes time and patience!

Several times I told everyone when I still lived in North Carolina to check out craigs list there for some good clean cars. Wifes Honda has seen 2 winters and 180k miles has no rust on it, and my son's Regal with 175k miles is rust free to.

From now on, we will ONLY get used older cars from rust free zones like Phoenix. Phoenix is more convenient for us since we visit family there a few times a year and have a free place to stay while visiting.

One thing about craigslist is you have to account for time and missing information and you really have to look at the cars in person and not just buy blind (meaning you shouldn't just buy a plane ticket with the intention of just buying to drive it home). Every car we end up buying is the end result of looking at several cars (often 8 to 10) before finding one worthy of purchase AND we still end up doing maintenance and repairs before driving it home 1800+ miles back to Chicago every single time!

We are fortunate to have a garage and tools at our disposal to do that type of thing (along with the fact that my husband was a mechanic for 13 years before becoming and EE) otherwise we would have had to put these cars on trailers to get them home (and that can get expensive too as I just paid $600 to get a car shipped on an open trailer from Dallas to Chicago but that was my new spec miata so it wasn't exactly a street drivable car anyway)

^ It still has the factory undercoating present. It isn't going to rust that fast... not by March (when we sell it) so the next owner can go to town if desired to add extra undercoating and whatnot

I use to have a 2001 Nissan maxima 20th anniversary edition. It was rely nice. I kinda miss it
