Mazda's lost my trust. They didn't want to cover my engine under warranty due to the fact that I didn't have ONE receipt for an oil change. Mind you, I bought the car when it had 21,900 miles back in August of 2009. The car blew up at 30,700 miles in February of 2010. The owner's manual calls for an oil change with fully synthetic oil every 7500 miles. Given, I know this is under "light driving conditions" but I didn't beat the shit out of my car. I let it warm up before I even used the turbo, and let it cool down enough after I really did run the car. So Mazda says I missed ONE oil change, which I did do, myself, but didn't think to keep the receipt from Walmart for the oil and filter, who does?
That ONE oil change wouldn't cause a motor to blow. The car was back to stock when a MazdaSpeed certified dealer looked at the car. They called me two weeks after it had been sitting on their lot and actually told me, direct quote "You have low, black oil, and a hole in the block". LOW, BLACK oil, and there's a HOLE in the block. No shit! I wish I could get paid $18/hr to tell people the VERY obvious like that! TWO WEEKS to inform me of something I already knew. Bickered back and forth with Mazda, no bude after 3 months of being without a car I'm paying $260/month car payment and can't even drive it. Decided to get it fixed myself, so that's where I'm sitting right now. I'm in Sycamore, IL, about an hour and a half away from my car that's gutted waiting for the new motor to arrive. I should have it back mid-late next week [ May 4-7 ]. That's 13 weeks without a car that was sold to me claiming it was under factory warranty! Peace out Mazda. They've lost a lot of could be customers through all this. All my family and friends know not to buy from them!
That's my vent! haha.
