Feels good to be back in a super solid daily driver! I drove up from Chicago to Madison, Wisconsin for my super clean 9-3 Aero. Its the beautiful smoke beige color and is fully loaded( hell even the glove box is cooled with a thermostat to keep drinks and food cold)

Car will receive a few bolt ons, but over all it will be very cared after as my solid winter vehicle. Took a few cell phone pics but
she will be receiving a full clay bar and wax before the snow comes.

parts are still plentiful and lots of dealers still service these. this car just had its 60k service done by a huge saab dealer up in Madison.

try finding body parts & frame parts... or specific headlights or tail lights... shit like that is not plentiful.

some saab specific particular parts are obsolete.

When i was managing the body shop, we wound up having to basically have allstate total out one car and state farm total out another because one car we couldn't get a frame end for and the other couldn't get headlights and a fender... the storage and cost of having the car sit for 2-3 months basically totalled it out.. in the most odd situation, because aftermarket, used, and new were not available whatsoever.

10 years after production is all you get....and if you get rearended... you get to install trailer lights on top of sledgehammer body work :s00ls:

i cant find SHIT for my wagon

ever wonder how much it costs to overnight parts from australia to get em in time for racewarz?

it's not just that 10 years of production, it's that saab stopped paying it's suppliers when it went under and new parts weren't entering the country.

Just seems like a silly thing to worry about. Not like its some crazy collector car. Sounds like any accident would render it totaled. Who cares.

not necessarily. Insurance is only there to give you money value for your lost asset... if the part is 100$, but it is unavailable, the insurance isn't going to care, they are giving you the $100 and wishing you the best of luck.

parts obsolescence is a part of insurance not many people think about.
