This is a project that my dad picked up recently. It’s a 1968 50th anniversary C10, long bed 2wd that we are dropping a 383/700r4 combo into. This truck is actually in really good shape for its age. At some point, the previous owner painted the sections of the truck that were originally white, to match the gold on the rest of the truck. It doesn’t look half bad, but eventually it will be brought back to the original two-tone.

Last weekend we yanked the old drivetrain and started prepping the engine bay for the new combo. The built 700r4 that was sent to us was a 4x4 trans for whatever reason. Currently working on getting it swapped out for a 2wd.

There will be plenty more to come! :jg:

Very cool :bigthumb:

My buddy in Kansas City had a green 68 C10 2WD back in the day. Started with a 305 from a Monte Carlo then ended up swapping in a 383 crate engine. The truck had obnoxiously loud glass packs and dumps right behind the cabin  Poor exhaust choice. Also had a big stall and TH400 so the thing was screaming all the time.

Thanks guys. This truck is really starting to grow on me, should be fun as hell once it's built. It already turns heads everywhere we go with it. I really wish I could convince my dad to go with an LQ4 or something lsx, but he was dead set on a sbc...

A buddy has a nice short bed 69 with a Duramax compound setup in it. So sweet!

That's so badass! I'd daily the hell out of that lol.
