lmao..as STOCK as they come from the factory...minus the front swaybar that has been removed...

rear suspension is a different story

I thought the waterproof one was actually bad for the mic? Or so said the instructions...Or do I have that reversed. Im using the one with the two oval holes open.

It will get more sound clarity without the waterproof cover but it's for low speeds. The cover will mute the sound but you'll have less wind noise.

They actually have MPH recommendations as far as cover and sound.

thats exactly the cover that was on for this video..
actually i just rear the manual for this camera, and it said its only good til 100mph...and if you put the waterproof/sealed cover on its better for sound @ 100mph+

Terrible music at that, but skip ahead. unfortunatly my car is so quiet that most everything you hear is wind noise, but it was far worse without it. If it were on my TA it would sound much better because that car actually makes some racket with the cutout open.

The one thing I'd recommend when you get it is to cut off the little tag else you pick up the noise of it flapping about.

This is true, but the solid back cover wouldn't pick up much sound at all. If I recorded with the camara going forward then it would just show cornfields. lol

Mine is just the regular Hero, and IIRC I've used both covers at the track and they both had wind noise.

if stuff is low the gopro will amplify it; so with a micover thing it will still amplify wind of that's all it can hear.

i made a super ghettorigged version of a micover and put it on my door mounted gopro. it is not bad; breaks up the wind and amplifies tire/engine because it is closer. audio from second camera.

Same here. I used Pandas during autoX and both sounded windy
