US41 October 2 T&T

[Guess who's back]

Headed to the track for the first time as a driver tomorrow. Friday October 2nd. Us41 from 5-10pm will be test and tune. Strong trail wind and low 60's. Any advice would be useful?
Drag radial 26" sbc car w/bolt on suspension about 3200#'s w/driver. Auto car small stall.

Good luck. Get a good burnout in the drag radials and if your suspension is setup where it needs to be then it should hook up foot braking. Anyone else heading up there with you?

You're right. Them radials needed a good smoky burnout. Track wasn't tip top for traction but it wasn't bad either. Had a blast. Hot laps until my fan burned up then i has to use the wind to cool it in the pits. I'll definitely be going back more often when i get the chances

I've found with radials and heating them up you should try to get it up into 2nd gear at around 80-90mph. 1st gear burnout never got them warmed up enough it seemed.

Umm... i don't think that'll work for everyone. LOL

I started in 2nd revved it out to 5k which came instant then went to 3rd and bounced it couple times between 4500 and 5k then rolled out of it listening to the wheels screech. Pulled to line nice and slow. But again everyone's rpm band is different. I don't have a speedo for one. Probably a 10-8 second smoky burnout.

This was on the new mickey Thompson et street r tires. 275/50/15.
