There is a place out in Yorkville that I've used called performance powder coat. They did a good job for me. Turn around could have been a little faster I felt, but it was nice work.

Do NOT go there! My buddy Rob just had his wheels on his ZX6R done there, and he had nothing but problems.

He had the wheels done, decent turn around time, maybe a week. Then one of the wheels was chipped by the tech putting the tires back on, so the front wheel had to go back to get recoated on the mechanic's dime. They got it done right away, 2 day's turnaround since the coater was going to be gone on vacation the whole next week. He got back to the mechanic's shop and noticed the wheel had a HUGE glob of coating on it. Of course now the coater is closed for the day and won't be open for a week. He waits a week and takes it back, the coater is PISSED and doesn't even talk to him, just says ok leave it on the shelf, I may have to order more color. My friend then waits 3 AND A HALF WEEKS to finally get his wheel back. The guy was screening his calls and never answered the phone. Finally my friend has had enough and goes to the shop to see what's going on, the guy is like "I called last week and said it was done", which he never did. BTW, once my buddy got the wheels back on his bike and out in the sun, you can see where the color is thin in spots, like he didn't coat it very thick.

I had parts off my old Yamaha done there years ago and he did a decent job, one part had a small run but it wasn't visible once installed. He's a nice guy, but I would NEVER recommend him again.

I send him a message, so we'll see if I hear back from him. It's just a set of valve covers in gloss black that will mostly be coverd by coil packs anyway, so it's definitely not a huge deal, but after the standoffs for the coils were welded on it needs to get finished....

I cant believe how many people and places I haven't heard back from.... I dont know how some people stay in business. :dunno:

All these places have been contacted and I have only received a response from Performance Powdercoat. He is who I will try using since I place getting responses to my questions in a timely fashion very highly.

So far the Powder "Pro" has been anything but. Left 3 emails, one call, and a PM on chi-town racing without a single return message. I don't know how people like that stay in business.
