G6 GT w/tune 14.3's (wtf?)

The car is BONE STOCK (3.6L VVT A6) with the exception of my tweaking with HP Tuners. No aftermarket exhaust, intake, slicks, or any cheaters, ran regular pump gas, drove the car to the track and got right on the track. I was averaging 14.4 all night. Got my 14.3 and called it a very good night! I was expecting high 14s, maybe a 14.5 but I was not expecting a 14.3. For what it is, 14.3 @ 96 is very decent for this kind of vehicle.

Damn, impressive for what 225HP? The G6 GT I rented in Colorado felt like a huge turd, we were at 7000ft+ though.

Are there 2 different engines available for the GT's? The Brand new one I had was a 3.5 V6.

well the new GTs come with a 3.5 and the GXPs come with the 3.6

Its not swapped. I dont remember but IIRC that is a GTP. Not a GT.

Ya gotta admit, those are some pretty decent numbers for a basically stock G6 -- my modded GTP is just a tick faster. Dayum!

Yeah the 07 GTP's came with a 252 HP 3.6, in 08 they went over to the GXP with the same 252 HP 3.6, but I don't think that the 3.6 was ever even an option on the GT. I'm not a GM expert by any means though. If it was the 252 HP 3.6, those numbers probably aren't too far off for a tune. They should be running like 14.7-14.9's out of the box. Maybe got lucky, idk?

3.5 is GT and below only, 3.6/3.9 is GTP only...

aaron and panda, thats dlclarkii from the regalgs.org board.. its a GTP g6, only slight adjustments with hp tuners... his l32 gen 5 regal ls runs 13flat so he's a great drag guy... but yea, its legit... iirc those gtps run mid-high 14s factory

I can attest, the 3.6 is a strong motor stock. I took out a malibu with a 3.6, and was quite surprised at how well it pulled.
